Abstract

This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the greater Chinese notebook PC industry. The report includes shipment volume and value, ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by tier, shipment by maker, and shipment by price point, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with notebook PC makers. The report finds that the greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume recorded growth in the third quarter of 2011 due to summer promotions in China and advance purchase made by vendors. Shipment ASP also enjoyed advance, and shipment volume and ASP together upheld shipment value of the industry in the third quarter. It was projected that shipment volume and value would not score double-digit growth in the last quarter of 2011 owing to lackluster economic performance and relatively weak back-to-school demand.
